Beginning in November, all 5th grade students in Grand Rapids Public Schools will be reading this book and blogging about their reading experience. There will be questions posed to the students, posts written and shared from different classrooms and four "Great Days of Blogging". The final celebration will be held with a visit from the author in March 2016.
People can promote freedom by getting rid of racism.You can do that by playing with the kids that are getting made fun of and tell them that the color of their skin does not matter and that you'r their friend.
People can promote freedom by teaching history. When you teach history kids will play with kids not their skin color because they have learned that kids are just kids no matter what color their skin is.

So when Dr. Martin Luther King stopped segregation young kids started playing with kids that were different nationalities. You can play with kids today to promote freedom of judging because of different nationalities.
People can promote freedom by having marches. For example, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a march from Selma to Washington. When he got to Washington he had an "I Have a Dream Speech". He wanted freedom for every race.
An example of how can people promote freedom from Racism is they can play with black and white kids.Also kids can teach about history.Kids are a new generation so if kids play with other kids then we can promote freedom against Racism.

I think that you can promote freedom by being nice to people who have been left out of things, no matter what the reason. You can also stand up to people who don't let people do something because of their race or religion or if they hate people for those things. If you are above 18, you can also vote for someone who will try to promote freedom. You may not be promoting it directly, but you are helping someone who is trying to help do it.
When peopel are a different color and they are not treated how they want to treated and they do not have freedom they should have freedom because other colors are treating other peopel different in the story of esperanza because the other campers laughed at her for not nowing how to sweep and thats why colors should not get laughed at and call them mean things in the story of esperanza.
