Beginning in November, all 5th grade students in Grand Rapids Public Schools will be reading this book and blogging about their reading experience. There will be questions posed to the students, posts written and shared from different classrooms and four "Great Days of Blogging". The final celebration will be held with a visit from the author in March 2016.

Home in America
Describe the cabin the Esperanza must live in in America. How does this home compare to her home in Mexico? Cite Evidence.
The cabin in the city is different then the House in Mexico because the house in Mexico is bigger then the cabin in the city with all the servants including Esperanza and her Mother.The cabin in the city is different then the house in Mexico because there are more servants there than there are at Esperanza's house in Mexico.
I also think the cabins in the city are different then the the house in mexico because if you had a way to contrast them next to each other the one in new mexico would be bigger then the one here and, i agree they do have more servants there than they do here.
Esperanza had a fantastic home when she lived in Mexico although in America her house was ten times smaller than it was in Mexico.Another difference is that Esperanza liked her home in Mexico more than in America. In America Esperanza learned how to do things on her own, like bathing herself and watching babies.
I think the cabin in America is different from the house in mexico because the house in mexico Esperanza was rich she had her own room the living room was big and there whole house was just GIANT you could get lost in there my textual evidence is in chapter grapes Esperanza was happy and got to spend more time with her parents and she was the happiest child ever living.The cabin in America they have to sleep in very small rooms and it is not that big and Esperanza is not that happy without her mama about to die and her papa dead. I know this because at first Esperanza acts very stubborn of where she needs to live but when her mama is there every inch she starts to get used to it.
I'm going to compare and contrast the cabin Esperanza and her family live in now in America, and the mansion she lived in when she was in Mexico.The differences between the two houses is that the house she lived in, in Mexico was very big,and because of the big space they could have their very own room.However, the cabin has very little space,and because of the little space they didn't have any rooms they had to sleep in the sitting room. Another thing about the cabin was that is was made of wood.Opposite of the house in Mexico their house wasn't made of wood. @Mulick Park

The cabin was way smaller than the the house that Tio Luis burned down because the cabin doesn't have maids and loads of rooms but the house that Tio Luis burned down had maids and lots of rooms.

Her house in Mexico is a beautiful mansion with big rooms and a grape orchard with a garden with roses.Her home in america is a small cabin with small rooms an a little kitchen.
Her home has a lot of roses by it and fruits. In america homes is diffrent and better.In america will snow and you will have to redo and plant fruits and flowers again.
