Esperanza's mother tells her: Esperanza, if we had stayed in Mexico and I had married Tio Luis, we could have had one choice. To be apart and miserable. Here, we have two choices. To be together and miserable or to be together and happy. Mija, we have each other and Abuelita will come. How would she want you to behave? I choose to be happy. So which will you choose?" (page 104)
How did Esperanza change after her mother said this? What advice has a friend or family member give that has helped you? Please explain.
Esperanza changed because she understood how lucky she was to not be back in Mexico with Tio Luis.

ReplyDeletePeople adapt to different situations by learning.They could not just adapt to it. It takes time. Esperanza couldn't do some things at first,but after a while she was learning.She learned to sweep and live whithout her papa and clean diapers.I think that would be a big change.I mean she couldn't even take a bath by herself.It would be a hard change to me to.

ReplyDeleteshe changes by misunderstanding her mom because her mom said that her abuelita might come.So she misunderstood it by that her abuelita might come with their money and that they will become rich again.Also that Miguel,Alfonso,and Hortensia will work for them again. I have misunderstood my sister before and later on that week i understood want she meant.
ReplyDeleteWhen Esperanza was with Isabel she saw a girl named Silvia and she held Esperanza's hand and it was all dirty but she didn't want to make her sad. That had happen to me with my cousin he had dirt and food on his hand but i didn't want to be rude so i held his hand when he was walking because he needed help and i was like Esperanza and Silvia
