Beginning in November, all 5th grade students in Grand Rapids Public Schools will be reading this book and blogging about their reading experience. There will be questions posed to the students, posts written and shared from different classrooms and four "Great Days of Blogging". The final celebration will be held with a visit from the author in March 2016.

I think Esperanza and her dad relationship is really good because he made her a doll and when her dad died she was so sad that every time she would think about him she would cry.
The relationship with papa and Esperanza is very good because papa took her to the grape yard and told her how to listen to the earth heartbeat.Also papa bought her favorite fruit he also gave her a doll every birthday that is what I think
because it means a lot to her so that is how much she loves him so much that she try to find the doll in the fire so it wouldn't burn in the house fire
Esperanza's relationship with her dad is... sweet and loving. i know this because he bought special dolls for Esperanza.
