Beginning in November, all 5th grade students in Grand Rapids Public Schools will be reading this book and blogging about their reading experience. There will be questions posed to the students, posts written and shared from different classrooms and four "Great Days of Blogging". The final celebration will be held with a visit from the author in March 2016.

Describe Esperanza's Character
Welcome to the first GREAT DAY OF BLOGGING! Today, we are asking you to describe Esperanza's character. (Please be sure to leave your school at the end of your comment)
Esperanza is a nice girl but when she started getting pour she started to act rude and selfish.Also when she was on the train she met a little girl and the little girl liked her doll the little girl reached for the doll but Esperanza yanked her doll away Esperanza though she was dirty.kamonie

Esperanza is brave and nice but on the train Esperanza was mean too the little girl. I think when Esperanza papa died Esperanza got mean. School: Campus Elementary
Esperanza is helpful, and she was dying to know how to clean so she asked Isabel to show her and if she showed her how to clean Esperanza would tell her how it use to be like when she was rich. But she misses her friends.

esperanza likes to help out and learn how to pin dipers and clean and sweep on pge 120 and she loves that doll because it is important to her from her dad before he died and she wants nobody to touch it and in the chaper almonds she didn't want to go to the jamica but Isabel begged her to go so she went and there where kittens and marta was holding one by the neck and it was limping and she said IS THIS WHAT WE ARE!!!! and then she left and isbel follow her

I would choose Esperanza because she gets scared sometimes and I do too.Esperanza also does not like Tio Luis-Goat.A time when I was scared was when I got on the plane for the very first time.Esperanza was scared when she saw a black cloth and walked up to it and saw that her dad was dead and she started to ugly cry.
Esperanza is so kind but Tio luis is not so fine. Tio luis killed Esperanza father that just is not right to kill someones father in the night. I know Esperanza must feel so sad that someone like her uncle killed her dad that is just so sad. Now I have finished my rhyme to tell you that just isn't right.

Tio luis killed Esperanza father that just is not right
