Beginning in November, all 5th grade students in Grand Rapids Public Schools will be reading this book and blogging about their reading experience. There will be questions posed to the students, posts written and shared from different classrooms and four "Great Days of Blogging". The final celebration will be held with a visit from the author in March 2016.

Is there a character so far in the book you can connect with? Use evidence from the text to support your answers.
I can relate to Esperanza when her dad died automatically thought about when y sister died (JANARA)and also when Tio Luis sat in papa chair and tryed to take over if he took over I will tell him I have a dad and I don't need you to play his part even know he is deid no you want( boy boo LOL).
Esperanza is a kind, sweet charming girl, but on page 69 it said the little poor girl said, "Mona", and reached up to touch the doll and Esperanza jerked it back so the little girl couldn't touch the doll and made her cry, Esperanza changed from a kind, sweet, charming girl, ever since her dad died.

A character I connect with is Esperanza because my cousin use to live by me and now she lives far away. Esperanza can't see her dad anymore because he had died.
