Our Land is Alive
Happy Friday 5th Grade Students! Today we are thinking about what might papa mean when he says, "Our land is alive?"
I think when Papa said "The land is alive, Esperanza," he could have meant that there are living things on and in the land, like worms or plants. He also could mean that the Earth is always moving in some way, because it is always spinning, rotating around the Sun, and the plates on its crust are shifting.
I think that when papa said the earth was alive, he meant that there were living things on it. He may also have meant we are the living things on it and the Earth was spinning.
Jimena from Ken-O-Sha, My opinion of what papa means when he said ''Our land is alive,'' he probably meant that we should take care of the land and the things like animals and plants and trees. He also meant to treat them like living things by taking care of them. He probably wanted to tell Esperanza that.
Jessica from ken-o-Sha are land is a alive he means he love the land so much when his daughter is their by him everyday in his life when he needs help or harvest the grapes she can help him with that.
I think the land is alive means. That all the creatures and all the things moving are on the Earth that it makes it feel alive. I also think that papa loves the world because the world cares and loves as back just like a human would.
My opinion about papa saying the lands is that it means that the land is alive by the crops of the food and grass are alive. That the Earth is spinning and you can hear it. That you can hear the earth moving and the people are walking on the land and that the land is for people to walk on the land.
Our land is alive and rich because we have a lot of food and jobs and houses. Sometimes in the middle because we have a little bit lot of food. The land also has a live animals. Some people are poor because they have not too much food or animals to eat.
l think Esperanza and papa said the land was alive because the plants could have been dead and it's coming back to life. That is my opinion about what they said. That's what l think it might be something else.
I think what papa means is that the nature on the land is alive. Esperanza and her family love the land like a valuable thing in their lives. Papa meant all the plants and the grapes that grow on their land are part of their family. What would they do if they didn`t have their land? They wouldn't have any food or no place to stay.
I think what papa means is that the nature on the land is alive.Esperanza and her family love the land like a valuable thing in their lives.Papa meant all the plants and the grapes that grow on their land are part of their family.
I think Esperanza and Papa's relationship is loving and caring. For example, on page four sentence 3 it says,"Esperanza was an only child and Papa's pride and glory, she was always given the honor.
What Papa means when he says "Our land is alive" he means the land is bright and full of life. Papa loves nature and he has a special bond with nature. The grapes that grow are gifts from nature to Papa and his family.
I think what the papa meant by our land is alive is that the land is like a breathing human being.I also think what he means is that the land is like any living thing because papa said that the valley breathes and lives.
I think what papa meant about when he said "Our Land is Alive" i thought he meant because he loves his land so much maybe to much to let it go. I would also like to say something about Esperanza's and papas relationship. I think Esperanza and her papa have a very good relationship because in the story page 1 through 4 it started off by saying they laid down in the garden and after a while it seemed like Esperanza was sort of having a little fun and papa. I also thought Esperanza and papa had a great relationship because far in the book i read that on Esperanza's birthday her papa always gave her beautiful dolls and her favorite food she like to eat. To me it seemed Esperanza really appreciated the things he gave her. And to me papa was being really nice to give Esperanza these things and that's why i think they have a great relationship. Thank you for making this wonderful book i hope you make more Thank You.
I think papa means his land is healthy it seems like he really cares about his land and he has been working very hard and he thinks his land is very valuable to him. Also i think he feels very confident in himself by working very hard. That is what in think.
I think what papa meant by our land is alive is that, the plants and everything around them is growing and breathing like people. In the story papa says "did you know if you lie down on the land, you can feel it breathe?"...this is what i think papa meant when he said that.
I think what papa Ment about our land is alive it gives us the grapes and Then they welcome us.Did you know that when you lie down on the land, She said
I think what papa means is that the living things on his land is alive. Also I think that he means that the land is filled with many living things like the plants and grapes.
What papa meant by saying that our land is alive is that the plants that grow in their land is a part of their family and Esperanza and her family love their land very much.
I think what papa means when he said "our land is alive" is that it's filled with life.Like the wild tendril the author made it seem like it was alive because the text said it reached in to the row,as if it was waiting to shake his hand.
I think what papa means by our land is alive is that its living and breathing. Papa lives around natural things that grow and breathes. He could also mean that it is just like us it breathes and grows like us. Papa also might think of it as alive since it does many things like us like grow, and breathe.

He could also mean that it is just like us it breathes and grows like us. Papa also might think of it as alive since it does many things like us like grow, and breathe.
When papa says OUR LAND IS ALIVE he means the flowers and vines are alive. In the book it says he gently touched a wild tendril that reached into the row ,as if it had been waiting to shake his hand.It also says this whole valley breathes and lives.
I think what papa means when he says our land is alive, he says,"This whole valley breathes and lives.Page 1, paragraph 2 ,sentence 3 it says,He gently touched a wild tendril that reached into the row,as if it had been waiting to shake his hand.
I think when papa said,"the land was alive" he meant that since the tendril had reached into the row as if it had been waiting to shake hands, he thought it was alive because a human shakes hands. Another reason he said that the land was alive was that the land gave them grapes and welcomed them. My last reason was that he said when he lies down on the land he could hear and feel its heart beat.
this is Tyson from campus elementary i think when papa ''said''our land is alive'',i think he meant it's alive cause when Esperanza put her ear to the ground when papa was alive and she heard the heart beat of the earth.

When papa says our land is alive , I think he meant that the land has a heart beat.On page one papa said that this whole valley breathes and lives.Papa also said that if you lay on the ground you can feel its heart beating.
What papa meant by "Our land is alive" is this whole valley lives and breaths. He also said that it gives us grapes and welcomes us.He also told Esperanza that you lie down on the land you can feel it breath but only if your still and quiet. He he helped her hear it and believe that the Earth is alive.
I can infer Esperanza's father meant the earth was alive because you could hear the "heartbeat" of the valley when it gives grapes and other natural environments.🍇
I think when Papa said the land was alive that the earth heart was beating.

ReplyDeleteI know why Papa said to Esperanza the land is alive because the trees and the wild life that live in the land make the land alive in the story.
Our land is alive and rich because we have a lot of food and jobs and houses. Sometimes in the middle because we have a little bit lot of food. The land also has a live animals. Some people are poor because they have not too much food or animals to eat.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion is that Esperanza's pa said that the land is alive because the land is healthy with plants and fruit. They were walking through the vines.
ReplyDeleteWhat papa is trying to say about our land is it is alive. I think it meant birth.
ReplyDeletel think Esperanza and papa said the land was alive because the plants could have been dead and it's coming back to life. That is my opinion about what they said. That's what l think it might be something else.
ReplyDeleteause of what they said.
When papa said that the land was alive, Esperanza had a face that was red.
ReplyDeleteWhen Esperanza wanted to marry Miguel because she love him, but Esperanza couldn't because Miguel wasn't rich..
ReplyDeleteI think what papa means is that the nature on the land is alive. Esperanza and her family love the land like a valuable thing in their lives.
