Beginning in November, all 5th grade students in Grand Rapids Public Schools will be reading this book and blogging about their reading experience. There will be questions posed to the students, posts written and shared from different classrooms and four "Great Days of Blogging". The final celebration will be held with a visit from the author in March 2016.

What do you think Carmen meant when she said she was poor but also rich?
What i think she meant was she is is poor but she is also rich. She was also probably saying that she is poor but she was rich and when something happened she was not rich anymore.

What I think Carmen meant by the phrase is she had money but she couldn't buy all the clothes she wanted she had good but she couldn't buy all her favorite so Carmen had 8 kids so she has to use her money wisel so she couldn't buy her kids toys what I think Carmen meant by that is she had money but she didn't have enough to buy everything her and her kids wanted aniya from campus
I think Carmen meant that she is poor because she doesn't have a lot of money. And she is rich with love from her family.Thats what I think.(I'm Jose from Dickinson academy)
I think she meant that she had faith and family
